Macy 33: Her Eyes

“Uh yeah I did.” Macy continued as Derrick crossed the meadow away from them, blushing.

You believe anything. But they didn’t fight. You only didn’t see Macon because he was in the office all day. So your friend is faking. Face it.” Shane explained.

“Why should I believe you?” Macy hissed, though she knew he was right.

“Because I’m right.”
He read her mind. Ugh.

“I don’t believe it.” Macy mumbled, shaking her head.

“Go ask yourself.” Shane challenged, crossing his arms across his chest in the way that radiated in an I’m right, you’re wrong kind of air. But still, Macy went toward Derrick and asked him about the fight. His answer surprised her.

“No we didn’t fight.” He confessed.

“Then why did you tell me you did?” Macy asked.

“You don’t understand. Seeing your pain was like…torture to me. But seeing you smile, that’s a different story.”

“But those smiles were all fake. Don’t you see?” she paused, “I love Shane.” She said this, but her blue eyes told him of another romance.
