Surprise Visitor

I missed my first class because I woke up at noon. Before I even opened my eyes, I knew it was going to be a bad day. For starters, my right eye was so swollen I couldn’t open it. Plus my whole body felt broken and bruised. I cursed Tom as I dragged myself out of bed.

I didn’t take one step before stopping, almost falling back onto the bed.

Somebody was sitting at my desk, legs crossed, watching me with their lips curved into a smile. And that somebody was Jodi.

“J-Jodi! Wha-What are you doing here?”

“Oh, just waiting for Tom to get out of his class. My class was canceled so I decided to wait for him here.”

I cleared my throat and hoped she couldn’t smell my morning breath from across the room. “How long have you been here? You should have woken me up.”

“Oh, I haven’t been here long, not even five minutes. Besides, I wanted to talk to you.“

I sat down on the bed, not bothering to hide my shock anymore.

“You want to talk to me?” I asked, miserably aware of the way my voice squeaked on the last word.

    I know, I know – I didn’t answer the question of what Jodi would say when she sees Jordan all beat up, and I’m also really curious to find out what she’s doing in Jordan’s room. ;-)

    Tiny correction: I sat down the bed. (If you did, I hope you gave it a severe talking to, not giving you a heads up Jodi was there hovering over you all that time). ;)
