I’m so sorry for leaving after our summer of love.
You showed me the world in a way I’ve never dreamed of.

But I had to go back to this life-sucking hell,
I was born into this family and they depend on me as well.
I’m a parent to my mother
And my autistic brother.

My heart is torn to shreds, I have lost your trust.
This distance is becoming a chore for us,
Forgive me my dear, know I love you
And in my heart I will forever remain true.

    I normally don’t like poems with a rhyme scheme, but I really like this one. Great work.
