Smile.

Look in the mirror. Don’t hate what you see, don’t spot those flaws that you hate. But look into your own eyes. And smile.

Don’t examine yourself, just look. Take a look at all you have done, everything you are proud of. Everything unique about YOU . Love yourself.
It’s time to stop hating.

Who am I saying this to? Well, I’m looking in the mirror too. The girl I see there is different. She’s changed. I think of the girl she was just a year ago and they’re different. Both are me, but they’re different too.

The girl I see is, older. Not in terms of age. More mature? Kind of. But it’s more than that. She’s… rawer. She’s more, herself. She let’s people, even herself, see a little bit more of her. That little bit makes a big difference.

Some people may not like this version of her. They may want the old one back. The quiet one, who will let them talk over her. But she has decided not to care.

But the thing about this girl that makes me look, is that, she’s smiling.

    A nice sentiment, very sweet and inspirational. Your comma use is a little inconsistent. It seems like you mean them to signify dramatic pauses, but it winds up looking like poor grammar. Maybe try elipses instead? (three periods in a row)

    actually, i have to disagree with THX . i think the comma’s are nicely placed, it makes it flow nicer as i’m reading this to myself inside my head.

    She’s… rawer.— YEAH she is. Love that line. Love this ficlet. It reminds me of the way Stephen King hits you and hits you with energy on a singular topic. I really love this. Bravo.
