“I don’t know why you listen to rumors.” Derrick stated.
But Macy just rolled her eyes and replied, “I don’t want to listen. So, um about dinner…”
“Yes?”
“If…if I meet your parents, can we please skip meeting mine? Please.” Macy clasped her hands together.
“No. I mean, that wouldn’t be fair.”
Macy whispered, “Derrick, I swear if you have to meet my parents I’ll die.”
“Stop being so dramatic.” He rubbed her shoulders, comforting.
“No, we need to settle this. I don’t want you meeting my parents.”
“And I don’t want you going around with other guys.” he growled, making Macy lean away from him.
Ignoring his tone, she replied, “Well, I guess we’ll just have to deal. So what time tomorrow?”
Derrick sighed, giving in. “Around eight.”
“Okay see you then.” Macy stood quickly.
“Wait. Where are you going? It’s still early.” Derrick told her.
“Not in my parent’s minds. I think you’ll understand it all eventually though.” she said while laughing sarcastically and leaving.
