Bernard can be so stubborn.. All I was trying to do was learn with Nick. Whatever.. He can drag me where he wants, but I know me not talking will kill him. I think as I munch on the fries in front of me.

I can basically see the steam pouring out of Bernard’s ears, so I know he is fuming and any second he is going to explode. Let’s just hope he doesn’t get us kicked out.. I think to my self.

As if on cue, Bernard cracks. “I can’t believe you didn’t notice me out there, Faith. Seriously. I had to be right next to you, like, the whole time. You are suppose to be my girlfriend, but just some chick I picked up off the streets who des whatever the heck she pleases and with whomever.”

It stings, the way he says that last sentence. Somewhere inside of me I can feel it, feel that I messed up and was flirting with Nick a little too much even though I hadn’t realized it until now, much to late. But how can I explain that to Bernard?

“Bernard.. I.. uhm..” I say, trying to get my thoughts straight.
