“What in the name of heaven and hell were you thinking?” Cheshire asked in that oh-so-calm voice that could on mean certain death. She was staring up at the crumbling facade of the hotel with disdain.
“We need a new base Chess! One that can accommodate several thousand people!” Joe bounced on the balls of her feet with excitement. “It is absolutely perfect for our needs!”
“It’s completely insecure.”
“But it’s the Catherine Palace Hotel.”
“But it’s a dump.”
“So? We’ll fix it up.”
“What’s this ‘We’ nonsense? This place cost more than double the entire budget for the YEAR . We’re going to have to rob several hundred banks to make up for the money, not to mention the stuff we’re gonna need to make it habitable.”
“Stop worrying Chess.”
Cheshire just sighed and started to walk towards the entrance: she may respect Joe as a leader, but that didn’t mean she didn’t think the woman was off her rocker.
“We’re following a madwoman into battle. So what else is new.” Peter remarked from behind, mirroring her thoughts.

    Ooh, I like all the hints at what’s really going on, and what sort of group will be occupying the hotel. Very inventive.
