We were all in awe, especially Nick N.
“Heyy,” she said, in her sweet voice, “Um, I’m Samantha,” she looked around, winking at the gaping Nick N. “My manager is getting puhrettttyyy P.O.-d. Sorry, guys, but I think you have to go.”
Nick N spoke in a friendly tone, “As long as you come with us,” he said, smiling.
“Gimme 5 minutes,” She said, grinning, showing off her perfect teeth, “But you guys have to get out now. Sorry.”
“It’s all good, baby girl,” Nick N said, helping me and Carly to our feet. “See you in five.”
We all headed out into the hot desert air, Nick N striding in confidence.
“Wow,” I whispered to him, “You got happy fast!” I gave him a huge, best-friend smile.
He looked me in the eyes with a serious expression. “Temporary happiness, Aly, is something easy to achieve.” he stated dramatically. He walked away, leaving me shocked at the depth he actually had in his boy heart.
