Here I sit, my story told
As he stares at you with his Eyes of Gold
I’ve fought this battle long and hard
and I feel as if my heart is barred

He ensnares you with with his Golden glare
But I can hold you with love and care
Please believe me when I say I’m right
and that all he does is stare in spite

Please decend in my eyes of Blue
Because the heart beneath will never hurt you
He may try to promise and swear
but all he has is that Golden stare

If you’re light is gone, I’ll be lost
and his heart is as cold as frost
but this war isn’t over yet
cuz I fight from sunrise to sunset

I’ll tear out his Eyes of Gold
and love you like the days of old
I fight for you each day and night
hoping in the end it’ll be alright

He stares at you with his Eyes of Gold
But he cannot say what I have told
He may be jealous of me and you
But he’ll never have the love I have for you…

    I liked the rhythm of this, it makes it feel as though it was written years and years ago. I’m not normally one for rhyme schemes, but this works nicely. Great work!

    Loved the rhymes, the rhythms were good once I read them correctly. Funny. How is it that you and I are always writing about similar love situations? I just posted a poem, so I’m not going to sequel with it like I usually do.

    Ooh, that was lovely. It’s certainly a romantic theme, fighting to save the one you love from their own folly.

    love it. you were always good at writing. this just proves it even more so. =) defending your love from someone unseemingly harmful. so romantic and strong with passion. like i said, i love it.
