I heard a gasp, and a bit of a squeal. I knew she would do this. Why would she want to go with me… I grabbed my backpack and began to walk. She didn’t need to drive me, it was only a couple blocks down.

I heard her running to catch up to me. “Wait. So he said yes? You’re not kidding?! I’m really going with Warren to the prom?” She said. I rolled my eyes.

“Thank you so much Drew! See, this is why you’re my friend! I love you so much!” She hugged me. I didn’t get excited at the “I love you” because I know it’s just in the friend way…that’s how it will always be.

The rest of the day went like that. Everytime I saw Macy she thanked me. At lunch she sat with Warren. But I don’t care. I don’t care that Macy sits with him, and hugs his arm and looks at him with the lovey face and I don’t care that he looks at her like that back!

“I don’t care!” I yelled, not meaning to. I found myself staring into my locker and Macy looking at me confused.

“Don’t care about what?” She asked.

    finally. sorry it took so long, I just kept getting a mantal block everytime I went to write it and I finally thought of something. sorry again

    Yeah, that was pretty much my life in high school. So glad those days are long gone. Might want to fix that one sentence to “I rolled my eyes,” but looks good otherwise!

    aww poor drew. He likes her and he wont tell her.. and shes all googly eyed with someone else. You really feel for this character. This story conveys a universal message, one we can all relate to .. kudos
