A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood [Make Me Laugh Challenge]

Bob and Dan met at the hedge between their driveway one fine Saturday.

“Hi, Bob!” said Dan cheerily. “How are you?”

“Oh fine, Dan,” Bob replied merrily. “Say, is that a new car I spy in your garage?”

“Oh that!” Dan guffawed. “Yeah, that’s my new BMW . Leather, premium sound – she’s a beaut!”

“Wow… nice,” Bob said, as his supermodel girlfriend emerged from the house with a beer. “What kind of mileage you get?”

“Not so good,” Dan replied “it – heads up!” A fifty-yard pass thrown by Dan’s son from down the street crashed into the hedge.

“So are rates reasonable these days?” Bob asked, as the smell of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, biscuits and buttered corn wafted from his kitchen.

“Not so bad if you qualify,” Dan remarked. Two blonde swimsuit models stood up from behind the hedge, giggled, and bounced away.

“Good to know… good to know,” Bob replied thoughtfully. A unicorn pranced across his lawn. “Well, enjoy your day!”

“Will do!” said Dan, waving at Bob with a stack of fifties.

I love the fanciful and absurd mine-is-bigger contest brewing between the neighbors… The kind of greatness I expect from you and your tags were laugh out loud… especially mine-is-bigger and cash money! Awesome last line!

I liked the sense of a gradual spiral into more and more absurd elements, like if the scene kept going we’d have dancing camels and a musical number with penguins.
