Lies

4 Weeks Earlier
“Hey Kati!” Rogers yelled from across the room. He waved and ran toward me and Kati. Surprisingly, Kati rolled her blue eyes and flipped her brown curls over her shoulder.

“What now? Did you two fight again?” I asked her.

“I’m not in the mood Rita.”
She ALWAYS moody.

Anyway, Rogers sat down at the round table, next to me. His blonde hair was tussled now and he looked even hotter.

Waitwaitwait, back up! He doesn’t look hot at all, I don’t think he’s cute, we didn’t just meet up in the hall to makeout before second lunch. Nope, it wasn’t us.

“Hey babe, what’s up?” Rogers asked Kati.

She waved her hand dismissively and replied, “Nothing hon, nothing. You? Because I heard around the school that you meeting up with a girl.”

Rogers switched seats with me to put his arms around Kati. I didn’t miss his hand grazing my butt and I don’t think she did either. But still, Rogers comforted Kati with the sad story, “You’re paranoid. You know I love you.”

Lies. Lies. Lies.
