Lame Clown (Make Me Laugh Challenge)

“Clowns are supposed to be funny you know,” the boy said to the clown making balloon animals at his 5th birthday party.
“Yeah I know clowns are supposed to be funny, that’s the first thing that they taught us in clown school,” the not happy clown said.
“What’s dat supposed to be?,” the birthday boy asked the now very annoyed party clown.

“It’s a sword,” the clown said, as he manipulated the balloons into what he thought was a King Arthurian Excaliber sword.
“Looks like a hot dog,” the boy said in his little boy voice.

“Listen, Dennis the Menace, don’t you have birthday candles to blow out”, said the clown angrily.

The boy looked at the clown and said, “My names not Dennis, Bozo.”
“You wanna make it to six?,” the really mad clown said.

“You know I wanted a skating party. And instead I got this lame clown party,” the boy whined. “And you didn’t even get me a real clown, thanks a lot Mom.”

I did the best I could dear”, said his mother, “now let your dad alone to make the ballon animals and have some cake.”

I loved the details like what he thought was a King Arthurian Excaliber sword, that ended up looking like a hot dog. At “You wanna make it to six?,” the really mad clown said I started chuckling. But at _I did the best I could dear”, said his mother, “now let your dad alone to make the ballon animals and have some cake” I laughed out loud. Great funny twist I wasn’t expecting. That kid really is a menace. Great premise. I loved it!

I agree with between space.. very humorous story. I like the interaction between the kid and the “clown” very witty and entertaining. This one has a good shot at first place..

Now I’m going to have a visual all day of a clown with one of those big red noses with a balloon which looks like a hot dog, and a scowl on with a little boy with a frown. That’s funny.
