He raced around the corner, looking over his shoulder just in time to see what he really had hoped wasn’t there was there. No matter, he was fast, and agile, at least enough so to dodge the inconsiderate, and inconceivably calm, people who were sharing the sidewalk with him. He would get away, he would make it. Well, that’s what he hoped at least.
