When You Blow Your Microwave Up [[Make Me Laugh Challenge]]

I stuck the Campbell’s soup container in the microwave, entering in two minutes. Then I hit start and turned to the sink where my mother was chopping onions. From the corner of my eye, I saw something flash. I turned to see the microwave completely blown out.
“Shit,” my mother proclaimed. “What did you do? Did you put metal in the microwave?” She was angry. I was confused, the directions said that the “metal rim was microwavable”, did it not? I had blown the microwave, and I wasn’t surprised. “Let’s sue ‘em.”

The next day…

“Hello?” I said as I picked up the phone. “Hey,” I recognized the voice instantly as Erin’s. “Guess what.” I told her. “What?” She asked flatly. “I got an ipod and…” She cut me off. “Cool,” she sounded unsure. ”...and I blew the microwave.” At this notion, she laughed. “That’s so you!” She was right, it was something I’d do.

“Well, now you can listen to music as you hold the blow dryer over your food to get it warm!”

Kind of funny story. Might have had more punch without the iPod part? I dunno. Probably just me.

the last line made the story. That’s the punchline right there! The microwave thing was kinda ho hum.. but the blowdryer line is classic!

I do like the last line best. This story resonates with me because when I was a child I did the same thing only it was a Wendy’s hamburger wrapped in tin foil that I used to start a fire and blowup the microwave. My parents were furious.

luckily, i have hurt my microwave yet. my mom AND my dad have though. it caught on fire for my mom, and started sparking like little bolts of lightning for my dad.
