Just a Flower

by Nissakit

Petals soft and fragile,
Plucked out by the little girl playing in the garden,
After all it’s just a flower.

Flowers so pretty and delicate,
Crushed by the little boys playing,
After all it’s just a flower.

Roses taken from their bush,
Used for celebrations and such,
After all it’s just a flower.

Dandelions mowed up into mulch,
Looked upon as weeds,
After all it’s just a flower.

Flowers are taken from nature to form displays,
Never getting a second chance,
After all it's just a flower.

Interesting poem. Could be related to a person – misused or mistreated because of what people think of them. I like this.

thnx Stovohobo, I know poetry is almost always about something deeper then what meets the eye, however in this poem it is just about a flower.
I didn’t think about the person idea, i think that is an interesting idea! thanks for the comment!
