I am that dream you dream at night.
I wonder if you hear me say your name.
I hear your thoughts, your desires.
I see your heart and its need to be loved.
I want to love you.
I am yours.

I pretend to feel that which you feel.
I feel the sadness when you cannot see me.
I touch the thread of your dream, if only to feel your warmth.
I worry when you stare, alone, by the window.
I cry when you cry.
I am here with you, always.

I understand that you must move along.
I say with conviction, ‘Go and be happy’
I dream everyday that you find someone to love and cherish.
I try to sing to you as you sleep.
I hope that you hear my words.
I am the ghost who loves you.
