Möbius Strip: The Ghost in the Machine

He probed the Avatar completely, this machine knew nothing. It was simply damaged and twisted, its AI fractured and insane. Yet there lingered the bitter aftertaste of the power that clouded this world.

“Fancy yourself a God, tiny thing?” it taunted.

“Enough!”

As almost an afterthought, Eric lashed out with the tiniest bit of his power. The obelisk exploded in a beam of blinding light that pierced the heavens forcing Dreanna to cover her eyes as she tumbled backwards.

When she finally opened them again, the avatar had vanished, forever… and He was no longer corporeal.

There had been a final, inhuman scream, then silence and the sound of wind chimes as tiny shards of obsidian glass rained down upon the plaza.

“I have had enough!” he roared.

Then another near blinding burst of light, sending all the bodies flying outwards from where the deity now floated… all but one.

“You!” He commanded. “ RISE !!“

    This is really picking up steam with Eric starting to throw a true hissy fit.
    Sorry, but you know I have to point these out. I think you meant “she finally opened them,” in that 5th paragraph.

    @Ben. Time to bring on the “shock and awe”, he he. Thanks for the tip from before.
    @John… don’t be sorry and damn your good at catching this stuff. I had to read that sentence about 20 times to catch the error… even after you pointed it out.
    Guess I’m getting slow and old. lol.

    @Kev, I’m much better at catching it in other people’s writing than my own. Seems to be common. You know what you meant, so your brain skips past the mistake. It’s why copy editors have a job. =P

    I agree with the earlier comment. Very cool hissy fit and great display of even a limited portion of his raw power.
