I realized in doing this that lyrics don’t grab me as much as the music does. Still, there are a few lyrical passages from songs that stick out, so some part of me identifies with them:

1. Rush – The Analog Kid
“Too many hands on my time / too many feelings / Too many things on my mind”

2. Thanks to Gravity – Birthday Suit
“The left side of my head is doing fine / The right side of my head is doing math”

3. Supertramp – Goodbye Stranger
“I’ll never look behind me / My troubles will be few”

4. Dream Theater – Lines in the Sand
“Sometimes, for a moment of bliss / and the passion we’re craving / there’s a message we miss”

5. Drive-By Truckers – Outfit
“Have fun and stay clear of the needle / Call home on your sister’s birthday / Don’t tell ‘em you’re bigger than Jesus / Don’t give it away”

6. Elvis Costello – Alison
“My aim is true”

And finally…

7. Rush – YYZ
“Ding-da-ding-ding-ding-da-ding-ding-ding-ding”

...which probably says more about me than any of them.

    I agree with tbs, the title is catchy. I love the lyrics in #4. They’re so inspirational.
