The food was delicious and as we ate, we talked and laughed some more. Then, all of a sudden, Stephen brought out a chocolate cake.

“Oh my god, I love cake!” I gushed and then blushed.

Stephen just laughed and cut me a piece. “So, um you had fun tonight, right?”

“Of course, I love hanging out with you.”

“So um do you um want to do something after school tomorrow?” he looked uncomfortable.

“I would, but I’m babysitting tomorrow.”

“I’ll join you.” He seemed desperate to redeem himself from the kiss.” I mean if that’s okay.”

“Yeah, that’d be great.” And I went so far to give him a sweet hug and a peck on the cheek. That’s enough for now.
