And now the end is near
He was thinking the older he got, the closer to the end than the beginning, thoughts about his life went through his mind.

I’ve lived a life that’s full
Regrets, I’ve had a few, but then again, too few to mention
He thought about what he did and what he didn’t do in life. How he conducted himself. What he accomplished and what he failed to do.
I faced it all, and I stood tall
I’ve loved, I’ve laughed and cried, I’ve had my fill, my share of losing

To be content with how he lived his life, as the end neared, he was not afraid when the final curtain of life was about to come down.

For what is a man, what has he got, if not himself, then he has naught, to say the words he truly feels

The record shows, I took the blows and did it my way

The only way to live was on his terms. Sometimes he bit off more than he could chew. He saw it threw, got done what needed to be done. He lived for today and did it his way.
He thought: I did it my way. Yes, it was my way

    the song :My Way written by Paul Anka(and sung) but sung best by Ole blues eyes himself, the chairman of the board, the one the only best supporting actor winner… Francis Albert Sinatra!!(AKA Frank Sinatra.. died 10 years ago.

    Thoughtful little piece and a classic song. That sentence after the first big chunk of lyrics has me a bit confused, maybe just cause of the way it’s phrased.

    The honesty in this piece permeates througout the whole story. The character you illustrate is bold and brave. He had the confidence and the courage to do things his way. Exellent tribute to Frank Sinatra.. I didn’t know his first name was Francis. Your story was infomrative as well.. Hope Kevin has the foresight to feature this.. cuz I smell a winner!

    you made a good character. he sounds very honorable.
    it almost reminds me of Morrie from Tuesdays With Morrie.
