“You want me, to take this ship, in there?” Ker questioned, one eyebrow raised.

“Of course…” Eric replied, his words trailing off into infinity. He had been noticeably distracted.

Mother Ker thought. It had been in the back of his mind the entire time… Mother there was something about it. In the vision, the Emmon woman said ‘Mother waits’, the city Avatar had said it too, many times. Mother. Hmmm… what was it? Of course! The techs all called the master Link computer ‘Mother’!

“The Link complex, the master computer, its the source of all this. Mother!”

Oh, clever boy, you are observant. “Possibly or its under the control of an outside entity.”

“How? There are so many safeguards in place. That’s impossible! “

“Obviously not.” Mother nature and her goddamn vacuum cleaner. “Nature abhors a vacuum.”

“Ava take us in.” Helm, course correction. I must be crazy.

“Course plotted, ahead quarter power. Intersection with light column in 10 minutes. Crazy on a ship of fools Ker.” Ava replied.

    I liked this better on the second read-through. Not sure why though. I think I paused properly for Ker’s thoughts.
    There’s that crazy back-talking AI again.

    Oh, one point though. I think you meant “one eye_brow_ raised.” It would look kind of weird if one eye raised. =P
