I see ficlets as a great, amorphous dojo of writing, like a citadel of words atop a mountain of code. Some day soon, as more and more of us achieve that elusive dream of commercial publication, people will start to say…

“Who is this new author and where did she hone her craft?”

“What is this odd website popular authors keep thanking on their book jackets?”

“Why hasn’t my husband come to bed yet?”

And most importantly, “Wow, how awesome was that?!”

And the answer will be ficlets.

    hahaha. i’m sure we all will Kermitgorf.
    and in my fantisy world when my book becomes a best seller i will simply say “The thing that I have to thank for my great success is ficlets and of course, all of the people on there who gave me advice and supported me along the way. Without them and ficlets, this never would’ve happened.”

    My wife currently waits for me to come to bed while I wile away the hours here. It’s somewhat addicting. I think Ficlets is the WoW for the well read and aspiring writers among us.

    My boyfriend is jealous of Ficlets, though he’d never admit it. :p I happen to agree with John’s comment – this is the WoW for the well read and aspiring writers of the world!
