“Ryan, how could you?”
“Well, it’s just I want to date other girls.”
Quietly he said, “Like Susan.”
This was not happening.
“You understand, right?”
Understand? UNDERSTAND ? How could I possibly understand why my boyfriend was breaking up with for my best friend.
“We could still be friends.”
Friends? FRIENDS ?
“No way.” Tears were pouring out of my eyes.
I got up and ran to the bathroom. When I left the table, he went up to Susan to ask her out.
