At the heap of clothing, Annie stifled tears. She cannot possibly have another flower for me, and even if she did, she wouldn’t give it to me because I cannot take care of it. she thought sadly. Surprisingly enough, the woman approached her. Probably to scold me, thought Annie. “This is for you.” And for the third time, the woman presented Annie with an orange flower. Flabbergasted, Annie watched her. “You must keep some for yourself!” she cried in dismay. Silently, the woman shook her head. “What is your name?” she asked the woman. Suddenly, the woman’s eyes grew dim and hopeless. “J459212,” she sadly replied. “To them, I have no name.” Silently, J459212 continued sorting the clothes.
