I really like this. A slightly different take on the challenge than I was expecting, but you do get a really great sense of who Katherine is from your description of Julie.

I also really like this because it spoke volumes about Katherine despite the fact that she’s not mentioned until the end. It makes me want to know more about her, so here’s to hoping you continue to flesh this out. I’m a little curious about Stacy as well.

Aha, very crafty, the description of a character in the description not of the character…ie, she is what her thoroughly described sister is not.

Powerful, Austenesque.. Poor, plain Katherine.. no doubt as pretty, but bookish..Kate Winslet could play her.
