Emily remembered Chris’ story with perfect clarity. She slowly sat down in reverie and sighed. As much as she loathed this being, she had to figure out some way to get Chris to open the Wonderball. She had to!

She snapped out of her daze when she realized Ed was staring at her.

“Is anyone home?” he asked mockingly. She smiled wryly.

“You want to get out of here, don’t you?”

His eyes widened. “More than anything,” he whispered.

“You rememeber who put you in here? And his promise?”

“Like it was yesterday.”

“Alright; we’ll have to work together to make this work though.”

“Deal,” Ed declared finally, shaking Emily’s outstreached hand. This is too easy, they both thought.

They had no idea how hard it would actually be.

    Boy oh boy my head might blow up!
    I just did a Wonderball spreadsheet. 27 stories with twelve different writers, cool stuff. I think we might need an outline for a plan with this story…

    I hope not!

    This ficlet series is crazy, I must agree!

    Sometimes too many twists and turns for my small, fragile mind.

    But twists and turns are what make a story great, so keep it up!

    @ Phil S: I think the plot schemers are biding their time, waiting for just the right inspiration to strike. It’s like planting a seed; you just have to wait a little bit. Some shaft of light is going to shine on this thing and crank out something awesome, we just gotta be patient…
