Charles In Trouble

by SKermitgorf

Alone in the dark dungeon I awoke. I heard the sound of rats scuttle across the floor. My heart skipped a beat.
A door creaked open. An elegantly dressed man came through holding a lantern in his left hand.
“What.. what am I doing here? And who are you?”, I asked nervously.
I still felt a throbbing in my neck where he or whatever it was, bit me.

“All in good time Charles,” responded the well attired gentleman, with a sophisticated European voice.
“What was that thing, that bit me, It was you wasn’t it?, you were a dog or wolf or something, I saw you transform into a man, or whatever it is you are,” I rambled on.
“Charles, you know who and what I am. Your father knew. He left because of me. Do you recall the night?,” he asked me.
“I was ten, he was summoned to the country, one of his patients was in labor. He never returned. The police looked everywhere. The woman lost the child that night. She claimed my father never arrived,” I explained.
“I know Charles. I was there. I let your father in,” he said.

Nice classic vampire tale, full of personal history and an aloof, mocking villain. At first I didn’t like the run-on, but it totally fit the frightened rambling you were trying to get across.
