A star fell from the sky.
I picked it up and saw a tear shine on its golden face.
Through water-filled eyes it looked at me in the soul.

“What is this world?”
It asked me earnestly in a voice small but bold.

I continued to hold the star in my palm and look at it, but I said nothing.

A solemn silence.

“What is this world?!”
It repeated louder.
With a little more waver in its voice.

“Your eyes tell me what this world is,”
I said after a while, with honest, sad tone.

It knew that I knew.

And we peered into one another’s souls expressionlessly.

A tear fell from my cheek.
Like a star.
