“We have to leave in twenty minutes, so get ready!” yelled mom. This was just what I wanted to do. Waist my whole entire Friday night at a stupid Boyscout meeting. I really had to thank my little brother for signing up.
“Mom, do I really have to go?” I pleaded.
“Yes, you know what, go call Massey. She can come if you want,”. I nodded and ran to get the phone. At least I could bring someone. I dialed her number and waited for her to pick up.
“Hello?” she answered.
“Hey, do you wanna go to the Boyscout meeting with me?”
“Yeah, lemme ask my mom,”. She put me on hold and I sat there wondering who else would be there. If any other boys from my school were it would be rich. In their uniforms and hats with all their badges. Too bad I didn’t have a picture phone.
“Sure, I’ll be over your house in a few,”. I hung up and went into my room to change. This was going to be a long but hopefully fun night.
