A Little Rain

by Laine P. Grey

It was too rainy to see a thing.
That’s why I knew it was perfect.
This would be only chance, and with any luck, he wouldn’t recognize me.
But, I wasn’t a lucky person.
“Hey,” He nodded, leaning against the doorpost. “It’s been a while.”
I smiled slowly. “I guess. Mind if I come in? It’s raining.”
He started to shake his head. “How would I explain you to…to them?”
It was then that I realized that my mood had turned blacker than my hair. I was foolish to come here.
I was foolish to think that a little rain could disguise me.
