Very theological/philosophical ficlet here that captured my attention since I love theo-philosophy. In reference to Eckhouse’s comment, I don’t think belief in God and evolution are mutually exclusive.

I applaud your decision to mark this ficlet as mature. Because this is opening a “big ol’ can of worms” as we say down here. ;D
You bring up excellent questions that everyone goes through before finally settling on what they believe in their heart. No person can tell you what is real or what you should think. I have settled on a well balanced combination of all the above sprinkled with hints of the extraterrestrial. (Why should we be so arrogant to think we are the only ones in the wide universe? ;D)

The questions you raise here are all important, and I agree with Jenunique, that was really responsible of you to mark this mature because (and I have to repeat what my father always says) two ways to jump-start an argument anywhere are to bring up religion and politics.

Because of the outstanding reviews given, I’ve decided not to rate this to lower the 5 star rating. I enjoyed reading it, but the subject matter is so well covered that it doesn’t provide any new insightful material or glimps into you coming to this conclusion. I feel you laid your heart out in writing this, but the presentation was average.

Here’s how the argument goes at my house- My husband would tell you that I don’t know what I am talking about, that there is only one planet with life. _shrug But, I_ would tell you that _he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. SO, in the end it’s every person for themselves no matter what. :D

You are thinking the same way I do, but people seem to get very offended when you say you think that way. There is nothing wrong with being open minded on the situation. I lean towards evolution too, but I don’t completly pick a side. Nice job on marking it mature.

This is a really amazing ficlet, I wish some of my friends could read it. I grew up with no religion, and so I believe in evolution, as for everything else, I’ll find out when I die. And I don’t mind waiting until then =]
