A sadistic grin on his face, the officer turned to Sassy. “This is the fun part!”

Into the radio he said, “Suspect fleeing southbound on foot near University Apartments. Corner of University and Commerce. Officer in pursuit requests backup.”

Then he let out a fierce roar and shot off.

“You better not let me catch you, boy!” the officer screamed into the early morning sky. “Haven’t used this taser on civilians before. I might get carried away!”

Left eye swollen shut, Paul spun his head right to get a look at his pursuer. Without periphery vision he was a disaster waiting to happen.

“Oh, shit!” Paul yelled just before smashing into a telephone pole.

“Stay on the ground!” the officer shouted moments later. “Don’t move or I’ll be forced to tase you!”

Paul didn’t stir. “Damn it!” the officer shouted, holstering his weapon. “I thought this was gonna be your maiden voyage, Lu. What have we here? Still peddling knockoff Viagra I take it.”

“It’s a prescription,” Paul said. “You can check it. It’s legit.”

    Wow, series is AWESOME !

    I love that his taser is named Lu! the “yet to named officer of the law” reminds me of a cross between Dwayne LaFontaine, the Verminator guy from Over the Hedge and Officer Palumbo from Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle.

    @Krulltar, good call on Palumbo. I totally get that vibe from this guy.
    And I was really hoping he’d use the taser anyway. Could have had Paul scream “don’t tase me bro.” But that might have been a little too clichéd.

    LOL at “Don’t tase me bro.” Maybe there’s still time enough for Paul to do something dimwitted and get himself tased. You never know. Ana Cristina might not let him off the hook!
