The officer smiled at Sassy. “Think that put the fear of God into him?”

“I think that put the fear of Sassy into him,” she said with a devious smile, before offering her hands. “Let’s go. I wanna get this over with.”

“Put your hands down. I wasn’t really gonna arrest anybody. I just wanted to scare him straight.”

“Well, you did a good job,” Sassy said, a hint of admiration in her voice. “You scared him straight into my arms. And to think that bitch Becca told me to stop manipulating people. You did it and everything worked out just fine.”

“Becca Schaeffer?”

“Yes. Why?” Sassy said, her brow furrowing. “How do you know her?”

“She’s the one who lodged the complaint.”

“Officer… Milo is it?” Sassy asked reading the badge on his chest. “Would you do me one really big favor?”

Startled awake, Becca answered the phone. “Hello.” Her voice was groggy as she scanned the caller ID: Lincoln County Jail.

“I know it was you, Becca,” Sassy said. “You broke my heart.”

There was a pause.

“You broke my heart.”

    Ohh, she got punk’d. Good call. I really like Sassy for some reason. I don’t think I’d ever want to be friends with her, but I wouldn’t mind watching her on TV.
    Also, I think that one line “Officer Milo is it?” could use a slight pause between “Officer” and “Milo.” A comma or ellipses would work, to give the impression that she starts with “Officer” before reading the “Milo” part. Your call though.

    I concur. I had to change the wording slightly later in the sentence to keep it under the character count, but the ellipses is golden.
