Maury glanced at the monitors, which showed the great alien works in orbit. The invading race’s powersucking grids still did their work, slowly directing the Earth’s lifeforce away from itself and into their greedy powerbanks. Fifteen seconds more and their force could not be overcome.

Fifteen seconds left before Earth died.

But all Maury had to do was stick this plug into that socket to stop it. And save everyone.

He smiled. Too easy. Seconds to spare!

Ten seconds. He laughed and stuck in the plug.

POP !

A flash. A burning smell.

Maury frowned.
