I dropped my head in my hands, trying to think. It was easier when I couldn’t see him.Well at least he wasn’t… never mind, he just touched my shoulder, so now he is touching me.
I am so screwed.
I sighed and looked up into his eyes. Ok, bad idea. As if I wasn’t already toast. He leaned forward and I closed my eyes, letting him kiss me.One hand stroked my hair softly, the other was slowly snaking its way around my neck and down my spine.
Cooper typically only has two settings: Off and full throttle. Either he’s going all the way or he’s indifferent. Either way, a girl’s bound to get her heart broken. So I wasn’t expecting the way he kissed me now. It was… soft. Gentle.
Shocking.
And after only about 5 seconds, he broke away with a smile, “See? I can be good.”
I stared at him for a long moment, trying to visualize this new Cooper instead of the one I thought I’d known.
Impulsively, I slid off the car hood, threw my arms around his neck, and pressed my face into his chest, holding him close to me.
