”- Here they come over and over -“

She could see them through the tiny window.

“Ah, here is one of our permanent patients.” The doctor stopped at the mauve door and pushed a button so they could hear her. She could always hear them. Nasty little bugs.

”- Watching always there’s not enough words bananas are nice yellow fruit think think Alice doesn’t matter what you say don’t stop singing those pretty words -“

She could hear the doctor explain. “Alice is of the firm belief that if she stops talking the world will end.”

“-go BOOM dontcha know inside my head the bomb the bomb -“

“What about sleep?” The visitor inquired.

“-cats. cats. fangs and teeth and pretty fur I like cats do you like cats -“

“She talks in her sleep.”

“-proof. See doctor? It’s PROOF -” Alice walked up to the window and grinned, all teeth and malice at them.
” – one day you’ll see you’ll see -“

“Moving on.” The doctor said quickly, leading the visitor away.

“-only I know the truth believe me -“

I like this story! Very intriguing! I wonder how it will end . . . or, should I say, how the world will end. :D

Well done. Truly disturbed psychosis, with the doctor somewhat nonchalant about the whole thing.

I am impressed with how much you’ve crammed into this little ficlet. I love how I can’t decide whether I believe her or the doctor. I think I love the beginning best though.

Yeah, I really like this. I love the nonsense she says to ensure she never stops talking, but I especially liked that part of me wanted to believe her.
