He leaned on the rail. “What am I doing?!” he wondered aloud. He could barely breathe, it was so muggy.
Taking your revenge, remember? He looked into the night. It was That Voice, who had led him to this point.
“What’s the use?” he asked. The Voice chuckled sinisterly.
Ah, you’re afraid, aren’t you? it sneered. Fear is weakness. If you show weakness, you’re doomed to fail again. You want to get rid of those who want you to fail, don’t you? They just want to crush you because they’re afraid.
“But what about her? I thought she loved me…”
Ha! Thought! As soon as you walked into that room, you saw her for the filth she was. She let you down. You call that love?
“No, I guess not…”
Then what are you waiting for? If she was one of the sweet ones, imagine what the vile ones will do to you. You gotta get to them before they get to you. He thought about it. Slowly he pulled out a nail from his pocket, and bent down tire-level. That Voice cackled in the dark. And this is just the beginning!

    I sort of got a geeks out to get revenge on hookers they thought they loved vibe from this one. maybe she (the target) was his girl as part of a sorority dare??
    I guess because he’s puncturing her tires, which seems kind of geeky.
    Loved the use of italics as The Voice. I think The Voice is the real villain here, shown in the control of the weaker human male character.

    It’s more like the guy thinks he’s been wronged by the girl, but he’s more wreaking revenge on society. I don’t know whose tires he’s slashing, but it could get worse from there.

    I agree that the voice is the real villain. Or maybe the girl is a little villainous, too?
