“Love is about the feeling, Tyler… If you love her as much as you say you do, distance means nothing.” Candi said.
I loved hearing these words, but still being reminded of distance made my heart sink.
“But what if I never see her?”
Candi sighed.
“Love conquers all, Tyler. You’ll see each other eventually… that’s what true love is all about, sticking through it all.”
I nodded.
“Thank you, Candi.. everything makes more sense when I talk to you.”
She chuckled lightly.
“Any time, lil boy, any time.”
I laughed, then heard my dad coming up the stairs to my room.
“Hey Candi? I gotta go, I’ll talk to you later, alright?”
She scoffed.
“So, you’re just gonna leave me like that, hmmmm?”
I sighed, and smiled at her banter.
“You know what I mean…”
“Ha, alright, bye Ty!”

I hung up just as my dad walked in the room, he looked worried.
“Tyler? You better start packing your things… we’re driving up to New York in two days to see your grandmother.. she has cancer.”

    ughh. That sucks, I really like how Candi helped him though, you can tell it really gave him hope.
