Her brother pushed the bowl of mint chocolate ice cream towards her. She looked at it apprehensively.
“Are… are you sure it worked?” she asked.
“The doctors did a check after, everything’s fine,” he answered confidently. “Besides, would I let my baby sister do something that would cause misery?”
Smirking, she thought about it. “Well, there was that one time…”
“Just eat the ice cream.”
Slowly, she picked up the spoon. She had a quesadilla for lunch after the procedure, & that slice of pizza with cheese in the crust for dinner, she felt fine so far. But, would it wear off? That’s just silly, she thought.
“That mint chocolate ice cream’s gonna be mint chocolate soup if you don’t hurry up.” Eagerly she dove into it.

The next morning she came down to breakfast. “Anything?” he asked. She shook her head, smiling broadly. A huge grin spread across his freckled face. “You know what this means, don’t you?”
She nodded. “Tony’s tonight?”
“And a plate of fettucini alfredo. You’ve waited long enough.”
