The boy clenched his teeth tightly as he sat on the bus ride home thinking about everything. He took a deep breath to calm himself before getting off at his house. He absolutely dreaded the thought of going inside. A shiver traveled down his spine when he thought about it.
He bit his lip hard, and stopped.
“God… please help me…”
Tears were finding their way down his cheek as he let a wave of despair take him.
“I… I wanted so badly out of my hole, and…”
He couldn’t go on, and he nearly collapsed on the driveway.
He took several more deep breaths in a sad attempt to calm himself down, but it only worsened. Each and every thought was just a stab in the heart…
He finally entered the house, shaking so much that he could barely keep his composure. His father confronted him, as the boy knew he would, and nearly felt his heart rip in two.
Their eyes never lost contact, and the boy began explaining himself to his father. By the time he finished, it felt as though he had no heart at all…
