Reflect My Heart (Part 2)

“Caitlyn!” a voice called from downstairs. Caitlyn sighed at her older brother. James was always rushing to be nowhere in particular. “Coming!” she yelled back, still shaking from her hallucination. “Well quit checkin’ yourself out in that old mirror before you make me late!” “Yeah, yeah, First impressions and all that nonsense…” she muttered as she grabbed her bag and headed for the door.
The car ride between them was too quiet. Caitlyn’s nerves were properly shot now. Was she going crazy? She could’ve SWORN she saw a boy behind her. His voice was so sharp and clear. She didn’t know school could make a teen crack like this.
She opened her compact and looked at her eyes. They were sagging a bit this morning. Maybe all she needed was some sleep.
She tilted the mirror slightly as she put it away, and in the back seat, was the boy, staring out the window. She quickly snapped it shut and turned around in her seat.
James looked over at her. “What’s your problem?” he asked with a smile. “I only wish I knew…”
