A healthy hand doesn't fear venom - (Deduction Challenge)

by Quizmaster

“It’s just an unfortunate accident”, said Detective Roper, shaking nervously his head. The old, weary man had seen too many tragedies in his life to be impressed in a particular way.

Deanne, 22 yrs old, the victim, was driving at high speed along the empty road. Then another car popped up from the left, and Deanne was unable to brake

While the other, unknown, driver was able to go away, she was left there to bleed, her throat cut to the larynx by glass shards, unable to call help

Alan, 25 yrs, the loving hubby, claimed that nothing was amiss. The car was brand new, a gift to her. And the car worked like a charm, he had witnesses, when he brought it home. Then, he gave it to Dee

“Show me your hands”, said Agent Zoe, a brilliant redhead

“What?” he said

“Can’t you see? He has a cut on his right hand, blotted by something dark, maybe grease. There was grease smeared on Deanne’s hand. Forensic will tell us the brake line was already cut when he bought the car: I guess he used the handbrake for the whole day”

Thanks for the kind comment Joe. And as for Mistress, the point is: there’s no limit to the depth of his lies. The “hint” proves only that the car wasn’t so mint when he drove it home. If he took some other “precautions” or not, if he was a good husband or a s.o.b., it’s left to the reader. What do you think about the matter? That’s the only thing that values

For example, don’t you think the accident happened in a too convenient way? Or do you believe in coincidences? It’s all left to readers

Excuse me for the double comment… a little misunderstanding between me and ficlets. But I really mean to thank every commenteer for giving me insights. If I finally wrote something decent, it’s all because of your help

I’d leave it to a jury of his peers! Yes, it depends how you’re feeling when you read this if you’re willing to lean optimistic or pessimistic, give the guy the benefit of a doubt, or convict him. :)
