Captain Travis was that kind of pirate you’d call a “swashbuckler”. Jolly and friendly, was also deadly and sneaky.
When he wanted something, he took it. When he wanted to pick up a fight, everyone had to be at his side… or fight against him. Life was a funny joke for Captain Travis. And even authorities, the ones supposed to oversee his wrongdoings, were willing to keep an eye closed over such a charmer.

One day, Captain Travis and his crew were fighting their way to the biggest treasure Travis was able to dream. A chest filled of ancient Inca coins, stolen by greedy Spaniards. Then, he found his match.
Captain Anita Morgan, the most famous female privateer, at his side.

“Stop!!”, yelled little Tim Travis “Girls can’t be pirates!!”
“You-big-meanie!”, pouted Annie, the freckled girl living next door. “If I can’t be a pirate, I’ll never, ever play with you, meanie!”
“You can’t be a pirate! You’re a girl! You can be the hostage saved by my crew”
“And then you’ll fall in love with me?”
“That’s really GROSS !”

    ha ha, very cute spin on the story, making him a child playing pretend! I kind of got a Dennis the Menace feel from the relationship between Annie and Travis. Not that Travis is a menace….

    I remember enough of my childhood to tell that there’s a bit of Dennis in every children. Usually, he’s put to behave when he stop finding the idea to fall in love with the girl living next door something less gross than he used to

    Fun shift to child’s play at the end. Such a funny time, that gap between when girls decide love/romance is a desirable thing and when boys figure it out too.

    i like the way you describe pirate travis as a charmer, but than it turns out he’s afraid of cooties. 5 stars
