Soon,he began to distance himself from me,or I began to distance myself from him.I knew things were taking a turn for the worse one night when I got out of bed to go get a drink of water.As I entered the kitchen, there was a dim light coming from a lamp that was on in the room.There was also a dark,brooding figure sitting at the table.I was aware of his presence before he was conscious of mine.Suddenly, I froze,the only sound being the pounding of my own heart that only I could feel.I vagualy heard him whispering something,though I could not make out what it was.
