Residing Dreams (Chapter 40)

Life reached a near breaking point on one especially tense night.I had been crying at school and tuning out from the world, and I was an emotional wreck at this point. My friends at school weren’t acting like the kindest, most considerate people, and I knew that a few they had been unhappy since day one. There might’ve been a point when my friends secretly wished that their parents were more like my dad, though they never said this to me.He was very invloved at school, and he left me a note in my lunch every day.It was usually written on pretty pink stationary, complete with little doodles.A number of times,if people didn’t know any better, they’d ask,”Did your mom leave youa note in your lunch?”Then I would shake my head and respond timidly,”No,my dad did.”Yet sometimes, kids who knew quite well that I came from a single parent household asked me this.If in one of my braver moods,I would boldly glare at them until they looked away. But my dad hadn’t been leaving notes in my lunch lately.I hadn’t been eating it either.
