A salty breeze blew back my hair. I breathed it in hungrily, enjoying the feeling of the sun on my legs.
“How did you get up there?” I look down at Jacob. He has a blanket and two sodas in his hand. I shrugged and smiled at him. The dead tree at which I lay on was only about three feet off the ground. Jacob set the drinks down and climbed up. When he reached me, he leaned in and kissed me gently. I giggled and brushed his hair from his big blue eyes.
“You’re so beautiful Lily,” He whispered. I imediately went silent and looked away. He noticed my change in mood and took my hand in his. “You are Lily, you know that right? The most beautiful girl in the world,” I looked at him once again and blushed. He smiled. “What? Why can’t I say it without you shutting away from me?”
I shrugged.
“You don’t have to hide it you know. ” he advised, his eyes shining from the vibrant sun. I smiled once again and squeezed his fingers. I kissed him again, my eyes closing, my nose taking in his sweet scent.
