The friends entered the ice cream parlor, ordering their favorite: chocolate mint with nuts. Alex and Chloe settled at a table and were once again confronted with the issue of conversation. Again, Alex did most of the talking but he could tell Chloe wasn’t paying attention. Her mind was far away somewhere, trying to forget the past events.

And that was impossible.

That night, Chloe tossed around, never finding a way to sleep. Images of Jay haunted her mind. Then the crazy thought that he would come through her window and do it again entered her mind and she couldn’t get it out. No sleep came for Chloe.

As for Alex, his dreams were filled with Chloe. He kept wondering what happened, what Jay could have done but only one thing entered his mind. The one conclusion that everyone would jump to about a boy and girl in a dark room at a party. He didn’t want to ponder that so he changed the subject.

All Alex knew for sure was that he would have to figure this out or he’d go crazy.
