Residing Dreams (Chapter 67)

“Daddy, why does Mr. Arthur something or other want me to stay with him?Don’t you think that’s kind of creepy? It really makes no sense at all.I’m living a contented life in Pleasantville. You’ve given me everything. We live in a wonderful town,in a peachy keen neighborhood,in a fantastic home, and on and on.In case you’re wondering,it’s just a phase I’m going through, what with feeling so down and everything.I swear,it happens to most pre teens between the ages of 9 and 12.I’ll make it through this storm.I promise. But I don’t have to go to a whole new country for that to happen. There has to be another reason!” I exclaimed, as curious as ever. “You don’t have to know everything. You just have to know that you will be safe, content, healthy, and, if you allow it, happy,” my father replied, matter of factly. “How come adults never tell kids anything?” I asked, to no one in particular. “I love you. I’m an adult, and that’s the most important thing I could ever tell you. You just have to believe it,” Dad whispered.
