Residing Dreams (Chapter 143)

Still,I couldn’t tell Casimir what I couldn’t even tell January. After all,it was my dad’s secret, and it was hard enough for him to let me know.It wouldn’t be right if I blabbed to other people about it.So on that matter,I stayed silent.I remember one night, when I was in Casimir’s room.We were looking at the stars through his telescope. He knew most of the constalations, and he pointed them out to me.Together,we liked to make up constalations. It was kind of like playing connect the dots.I showed him a cow jumping over the moon, a sock,a blue jay, a key, a rose, and a rainbow. I also saw my father in the stars. I recalled the words he told me before I left: “Even though we’re far apart, we’re still under the same sky.” Then, Casimir and I spotted a shooting star. “Make a wish,” I whispered to him. I closed my eyes wishing for hope to prevail. I couldn’t sum it up in words: only a feeling in my heart. Something told me that Casimir was doing something similar, though I didn’t know his wish.
